Client :
XR Creator Hackathon
Project Duration :
3 weeks
Overview:
Murud-Janjira Fort, one of India’s most iconic maritime forts, remains physically inaccessible to many due to its location and terrain. We set out to create an immersive, inclusive, and historically faithful VR experience that would open this cultural gem to a global audience—especially the elderly, distant travelers, and users with special abilities.

PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Despite India’s rich heritage, monuments like Murud-Janjira Fort are difficult to access due to physical barriers, lack of guided engagement, and limited infrastructure for differently-abled tourists. This inaccessibility limits exploration, cultural education, and tourism revenue.
OUR SOLUTION:
YatriVR reimagines the fort as a virtual, explorable environment that combines historical storytelling, interactive artifacts, and multi-language support.
🔵 High-Fidelity 3D Reconstruction
Pre-ruin visual fidelity to showcase the fort in its architectural prime.🧭 Interactive Boat Ride Entry
Users arrive by navigating a virtual boat—an homage to real-life access routes.🪵 Engraving & Artifact Exploration
Examine carvings and structures up close with historical insights.🔊 Narrated History (Multilingual)
Rich storytelling in regional and international languages.♿ Inclusive UX Design
Accessibility-focused navigation and UI for elderly and differently-abled users.
TECH STACK:
Engine: Unreal Engine 5.3
3D Modelling: Autodesk Maya
Design: Adobe Suite, Figma
Scripting: Blueprints, C++
XR Integration: Meta XR SDK
Hardware: Meta Quest 2, 3, Pro
